Yujin Robot announced on the 31st that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with MyungSe CMK, a leading specialist in electric food delivery carts for hospitals, to develop autonomous temperature-controlled delivery carts.
On the 27th, Yujin Robot and MyungSe CMK held a signing ceremony at MyungSe CMK's Gwacheon branch to formalize their collaboration. The partnership aims to combine Yujin Robot's Autonomous Navigation Solution (ANS) technology with MyungSe CMK's expertise in temperature-controlled food delivery carts to jointly develop autonomous delivery carts.
MyungSe CMK, which developed the first electric food delivery cart in Korea and currently holds over 80% of the domestic market share, plans to commercialize the autonomous delivery cart by 2022, leveraging the core competencies and technologies of both companies.
The two companies will jointly develop the autonomous delivery cart that combines Yujin Robot's autonomous mobility solutions with MyungSe CMK's electric temperature-controlled food delivery carts. These carts will be able to navigate various environmental conditions, including getting on and off elevators and moving multiple carts simultaneously. In addition, the carts will feature temperature control systems and integrated management systems, ensuring thorough and safe sanitation management for three daily meal deliveries, thereby providing healthier meals to patients.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a global increase in interest and demand for contact-free communication. Consequently, the development of autonomous delivery carts is expected to contribute to the creation of a new market for medical meal delivery systems and serve as a platform for implementing autonomous mobility solutions in large hospitals abroad and other fields.
